Sparkling Wines from Extreme Elevation and Native Grapes

KEUSH

methode traditionnelle

Keush is the first traditional method sparkling wine crafted from Armenian Indigenous varieties. Grapes are sourced from high elevation vineyards 1750m above sea level grown in volcanic soil. These are some of the highest vineyards in Armenia and the highest vineyards in the world that produce Méthode Traditionnelle.

About Keush Wines

Keush is the first Méthode Traditionnelle sparkling wine crafted from indigenous Armenian wine grapes grown in volcanic soil in high-elevation vineyards.

Situated in a mountainous panorama some 5,000 feet above sea level, Khachik is a rural community of approximately 1,000 people in southwestern Armenia. It also happens to inspire some of Armenia’s most innovative winemaking.

These craggy hills in Vayots Dzor are home to un-grafted, 60-100-year-old vines growing in high-elevation volcanic soil. They produce such storied indigenous Armenian wine grapes like Areni, Voskehat, and Khatouni.

Keush was founded in 2013 by Vahe Keushguerian, a wine and hospitality industry veteran who had worked in Italy and the United States before returning to Armenia in 2009. Today, Keush produces approximately 5,000 cases of wine annually. In 2021, Keush released the first Blanc de Noirs made from Areni, Armenia’s signature red wine grape. It joins an existing lineup of Origins Brut, Blanc de Blancs, and Rosé.
